Borrowing Information

Borrowing library materials available for circulation shall not be restricted because of age, gender, race, religion, political affiliation, or personal viewpoints.  It is the responsibility of parents to monitor any restrictions on materials borrowed by their children.

Circulating materials listed in the catalog, but currently checked out, may be placed on hold by a library cardholder. Holds may be placed either in person, by telephone, or online at the catalog website. Patrons will be contacted by email, text message, telephone, or U.S. Mail when their hold is available. Patrons will have ten business days in which to retrieve materials once they have been contacted.  If unclaimed in the allotted time, the item will be offered to the next patron on the list, returned to the shelf for circulation, or returned to the lending library.

Library materials will automatically be renewed on the due date if they are not on reserve for other patrons.  Items may be renewed twice. Patrons can also renew an item in person at the library, by telephone, or by accessing your library account online.

We are a fine free library. Overdue materials must be returned in good condition for the patron to avoid fees for damaged materials.

Any cardholder who borrows materials from the Thomas Township Library is responsible for returning those items in a timely manner and in good condition. When a patron fails to return borrowed materials or reports them lost, the patron will be charged for the replacement cost of the items.

Patron borrowing will be paused until all fees are paid in full.
